New Car

You live in another EU Member State than Germany and want to buy a new car from us in Germany? After the legal notice, we explain to you, how the purchase of a new car from us usually works.

Legal notice:

Please note that when buying a new car, you pay VAT in the country in which you register the vehicle (country of destination) and not in the country in which you purchase it. EU VAT legislation defines the new car as a vehicle with no more than 6,000 km OR not older than 6 months (period between the date of first registration and the date of purchase). If only one of the conditions is met, then – in terms of VAT – it is considered as a new car.

Here we give you an overview

Mileage Age since first registration new or used according to VAT law tax treatment in Germany
<= 6,000 km <= 6 months new exempt from taxation
<= 6,000 km >   6 months new exempt from taxation
>   6,000 km <= 6 months new exempt from taxation
>   6,000 km >   6 months used liable for taxation

VEHICLE VIEWING AND SALE

  3. If you decide to buy the vehicle, you will go for a test drive.

  5. The sale takes place without the German VAT of currently 19 percent. However, a security deposit in the amount of 19 percent must be provided. We will transfer this security deposit back to you after receipt of all necessary evidence (see point 7).
  6. You make a down payment of 500 EUR. We do not accept credit cards. Therefore, you must have the down payment in cash or you can simply transfer the amount.

EXPORT PLATES AND PAYMENT

  1. In return for a service fee we apply for export plates. You can choose between 15 and 30 days.
  2. At the same time, we prepare the vehicle for the handover.
  3. Transfer the remaining amount in due time before handover (handover only possible after receipt of payment) or bring it in cash on the day of transfer. Due to the new money laundering guidelines, we can only accept cash for the entire vehicle payment up to a maximum of 9,900 EUR. This amount may neither be exceeded in the case of a single nor in the case of a repeated payment.

In addition, you will receive from us the Registration Certificate Part I and Part II, the Certificate of Conformity (CoC), the export plates and the associated liability insurance.

REFUND OF THE SECURITY DEPOSIT

  2. We will send you a document (PDF file) called Entry Certificate. Fill in the marked areas and send us this document signed back by e-mail.
  3. Register the vehicle to your name in the EU Member State where you live. This means that the new registration certificate, which is issued to you after registration, includes your name, your address from the invoice and the vehicle identification number (VIN).
  4. You pay the VAT of your EU member state and have it proven. The documentary evidence should show the VAT rate, the amount of VAT paid and the vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle on it.
  5. Send us a copy of the new registration certificate and a copy of proof of payment of VAT.
  6. If we have received the Entry Certificate, the copy of the registration certificate and the copy of proof of payment of VAT, then we will transfer the security deposit to your account. The account must be yours and should be located in the country in which the registration occurs.
In principle, a purchase can also be made with just a single visit. You should arrive in the morning. In the event that you do not make the payment in cash, you should have clarified in advance with your bank that you will make an urgent bank transfer by phone. If the payment arrives on the same day, we can hand you over the vehicle, the vehicle documents and the export license plates on the same day. Due to the new money laundering guidelines, we can only accept cash for the entire vehicle payment up to a maximum of 9,900 EUR. This amount may neither be exceeded in the case of a single nor in the case of a repeated payment.

Please note that we do not send you, a private customer (consumer), any sales contracts until you personally visited the vehicle on our company premises or commissioned a third party with the inspection on your behalf.
